How to begin the day

Before you rise to go on

You must look to yourself and say
There can be no violence in heart that loves life
Npo more than in the seasons, or the river's course.

And you heart must be centered in the rhythms of life
And your hand must be steady to steer its course
And O mother of us all !
May this be the last sad day of the revolution

And may life prevail!

Keeping heaven and earth as witness
I welcome the rising sun
I gaze upon its divine light
May it dispel the darkness from my heart and mind.
